Still seeing obits for Saturday Morning Cartoons. This morning my son woke up and didn't say "What happened to the cartoons?" Instead he said to my wife, "Mommy can I watch YouTube?"
It's a bygone era and it's fine to reminisce about our childhood, but the fact is that most kids won't care. They have the Internet. They have Netflix. If they have cable (I don't) they have multiple 24-hour cartoon networks. Maybe this is just one more reminder of our mortality, that the world moves on. But it's not a sign of any change for the worse.
