I really wanted to spotlight Yayoi Kusama. Not to long ago I stumbled over her art during a google search and I was hooked from the second I saw her with her paintings.
Not only did her artworks demand attention and just took over spaces, but also her appearance was eye catching. She made you look at her. She was not hiding at all. Everything about Yayoi screams "Here I am!" Her presence, the beautiful colours and her installations really impressed me. As an illustrator I was often doubting myself, because of the "girly" colours I used, I really found strength and confidence through Kusama's art. So this artwork represents her inspiring me to be myself, via drawing a portrait of her, using my style. I hope I did her justice.
