what I'm working on today.
I start out by carving the base wood slightly to make the proper surface. then I weave, overlapped criss cross the hemp on it. I tie this off and do a layer of macrame strip. then I stitch that in the place I want to use as the start of my bead weaving. I'll work on these more tomorrow and post some process on my site for you guys.
the base wood coils come from a reputable woodworker who makes only body jewelry. wood is for healed piercings only; the weights I make aren't typically heavy enough to be uncomfortable when worn and will not stretch the lobe any larger. These are only 4 gauge.
