This is a series done in 4x5 color film. Light and shadow are the basis of many photographic works. Within my series I took those two most basic elements and explored how they can truly make a photo into something intriguing to the eye. I focussed on the way light interacts with glass objects to create unique reflections. Specifically, I am interested in different colored reflections as I used only white backdrops. Colorful flowers were also incorporated to cast unique shadows that merge with the reflections to create a new form exclusive to that photograph. The large format camera gives a photographer a new realm of possibilities within depth of field. I choose to experiment with different focus points and the way a focus point can reshape a photograph. Focussing not on the beautiful flower in the foreground but instead the shadow beneath it or the texture of the fabric where the light hits.
