“Freedom&Censorship” for myself and the model.
This photography project describes how society sexualises women not letting us express ourselves freely and telling us how to act or how to look like. Even though sexism takes away women’s lives everyday throughout the world, this project focuses on the smaller acts that are the catalysts of a bigger problem. For instance, society tells us to shave (first picture) when hair grows on our bodies naturally, to fit inside certain sizes and to please everyone around us, but mostly men. Yet still it censors us (second picture) when we try to show the world how our bodies truly look like. However, as time goes by more and more women are being able to become aware of this, fighting to break free (third picture), to embrace our bodies and to love whoever we love freely but also ourselves. @ellophotography @ello_spain
