The patriarchy directly influences my work. It forces me to be honest, to document and reveal my own experience in order to show myself that my perspective isn't forgotten or unseen. These photographs are all deeply personal. They depict a variety of things... sobbing for hours over heartbreak naked in bed, documenting my ability to lactate to show that it is not gross or weird, and bleeding during sex... these all explore the hidden truths of my female experience.
