Every year, summer saves my life, just in the nick of time!
Everything I wrote in my earlier post about the month of June pretty much holds true for all of summer. Summertime really is Heaven on Earth!
During winter, I go into survival mode. The world in winter turns dark and dull and sullen. It's as if space aliens take over the planet and begin to change its climate to suit their cold alien physiology. Or it's as if an evil sorceress turns the Earth into a dark realm so that the demons from the underworld can walk the surface. I don't know -- it must be something malevolent like that because winter makes no sense otherwise!
My winter goal each year is to persevere and ride out the dreariness until the sunshine returns. And, fortunately, it always returns. And it brings freedom and warmth and beauty and light!
I once thought that what I hated about winter was the cold temperatures. Well, I do dislike the coldness. However, I think the thing about winter that is most despicable is the darkness -- the miserable short gloomy days.
I need the sunshine! I don't know -- perhaps I am part plant and recharge via photosynthesis?!
Maybe photosynthesis is my super power! It's not a sexy super power, I admit, but you gotta run with what you have. I don't like the sound of "Photosynthesis Man". I think I will go with "Captain Solar"!
Anyway, have a happy summertime. Get charged up because, unfortunately, it seems as if that damn winter eventually returns every year also!
