Rūta Matulevičiūtė (@rutavm)
“I am most inspired by my own mind at the process of creation, which becomes the way to express deepest experiences of divine nature of being. This is not about religion, it is about love and trust in general”
Rūta Matulevičiūtė explores human relation to environment and their affects to each other which makes her artistic research focus mainly on holistic worldview.
Observance and vision based creation introduces the spectator with the inner subjective world and channels subtle aspects of contemporary existence, of both individual and collective consciousness. With the goal to explore the unknown and transcend beyond human mind, cultural, theory cages.

My work is here to assure those who have questioned themselves.
My work is here to enlighten those who have been lied to.
My work is here to challenge the misconceptions that have gained popularity.
Wide noses and thick lips are beautiful.
Nappy hair and big Afros are beautiful.
The imperfections we desperately try to correct are the most beautiful aspects of who we are.
We must appreciate the natural attributes we have been blessed with.
We must love and treasure our blackness.
This is a celebration of Black Beauty.

Although primarily a self-portrait artist, they operate from both sides of the lens to design + execute meaningful concepts @ the intersection of identity, sexuality, vulnerability, + gender in our culture today.
As an auteur their technique is defined by the poignant combination of visceral body language + everyday surrealism that encourages the viewer to ask difficult but necessary questions.

Stefania Tejada (Colombia, 1990) explores and studies the female spirit, an immersion within the concept of identity and her personal evolution as a human where fashion and nature unite. She is in constant search of capturing her subjects when they feel most vulnerable or most powerful.
The face of her subjects acquire a special pre eminence; an exposed place. Her subjects connect returning the gaze, establishing a relationship and allowing the viewers to question themselves about the role of women in today’s society, allowing them to see the trace of the past and the present; to see what’s hidden behind those eyes.

The artist’s research is driven by continuous development of themselves and her own curiosity

personal space. Each work can certainly be recognized as the final stage of a concept before intuited and later expressed
through pictorial method.

In my paintings, everything flows together. Colors, lines and shapes - people, plants, and things are woven into one harmonious, functional system. I want to subtly remind viewers that we humans, in all our diversity, are essentially interconnected, and with thoughtfulness, can function together harmoniously as well.
I create a world of beauty and bounty by generously sharing my visions of Oneness.
