Tomi Paasonen, born in Helsinki, Finland, is currently the artistic director of ITAK - Regional Dance Centre of East Finland, an organisation creating infrastructure for contemporary dance and performance art, based in Kuopio Finland. After dancing with the Hamburg Ballet (1989-1994), Alonzo King's Lines Ballet (1994-1995) and The Joffrey Ballet (1995.1997), he co-founded KUNST-STOFF, a San Francisco based inter-disciplinary physical theatre and arts-event production company. In 2002 he moved to Berlin, where he launched PAA (Public Artistic Affairs). For the next decade he worked internationally as a choreographer, stage director and teacher.
