I am intrigued by, and attempt to work towards, an exploration of not knowing how I will resolve a drawing or painting.
Once a perfectionist a perfectionist bent on fixing so-called 'mistakes', fiercely erasing or painting over those markings that I thought
clumsy or crude. Say, those jabs or smudges of paint or graphite, with whichever painting or drawing too-I now wholeheartedly embrace those
Sensing those very "gropings for the form" hold true gestural gems. Honest and vital footsteps which should be preserved for a present composition, data mined
for future perceptual possibilities.
Prioritizing such twists and turns in a creative wilderness within the broadest range of possibilities is what keeps my ideas pliable and my work alive.
