With her solo directorial debut, Gerwig made a refreshing take on the coming-of-age story, showing a flawed character in the midst of finding her way in the world, but also the delicate mother-daughter relationship. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Little known fact: Greta Gerwig wanted to shoot this movie on Super 16 film stock, but due to budget constraints, it was ultimately shot on digital with the Arri Alexa Mini.
