Scarlett is a NYC artist who has been inspired by art since she could grasp a crayon. She always thrives to improves and struggles to think of what hasn't been done before. She thrived to be a fine artist following in the steps of the artists she admires in the lowbrow scene, but found love creating punk zines with a stippling/pointillism style. As she focuses on becoming an architect, she occasionally pushes herself to become better at using ink and creating odd works.
As a women, I do not feel put down by the patriarchy. I believe that it exists, and I believe that other women struggle to get ahead in this world due to patriarch systems. I don't let anything stop me from creating or working in a male dominated field. I don't let anyone disrespect me or take advantage of me, I always make sure that I am treated as an equal, even if they want to talk poorly about me to others. In a professional setting, gender does not define me, and doesn't threaten me.
These works I've created are to let all know that it is okay to explore the darker side of lust, that no matter who you are, you are allowed to enjoy what makes you feel good. The image of the male upset many, who accused me of emasculating men with my image. I said to them, "who said the images where I don't display any genitalia are exclusively women, and not a male in feminine lingerie? Many males enjoy being in bondage and there is nothing to be ashamed of. Why is it okay to think of a helpless women tied up and helpless as sensual, but not the same for a male? I see them on the same level. A human that finds enjoyment in being dominated or dominate, regardless of the sex or gender they identify with."
