I've been training for the Triple Bypass bike ride. Today I rode the longest continuous climb I can remember doing, almost 6000 feet of elevation gain. The gain would have been 7000 feet but the road to the top of Mt. Evans was impassable 3 miles from the summit.
The ascent was hard for me but the views and solitude were worth it (the road from Echo lake was closed to cars).
End of the road, around 13,000 feet it got too gnarly to continue.
Turns out road bikes are not made for ice. I rode through this section but almost ate shit a few times.
