2017 was a very positive year for me, both personally and professionally. I had the opportunity to work with interesting clients, while also doing personal projects and working on my master's degree thesis/final project — which will be out somewhere in January 2018! I learned a ton of things, and I felt like I improved my technical skills significantly, while also working with tools that are completely new to me (such as AR).
It's not an easy task to sum up a whole year in three images, but above you can see some illustrations I did for my latest personal project, and which I think is a project that represents the past year for me – getting involved with a bunch of different things, and trying to make the best out of them.
Tactile is a series of personal illustrations where I experimented with organic compositions and shapes. I wanted to distance myself from my usually rigid/geometric compositions and try something different while keeping my identity/style at the same time. The main goal was to create interesting surfaces and textures that would stimulate the viewer's tactile sensations. It was definitely a fun personal project to end 2017 with. Looking forward to 2018, where I will finish my studies – at least for now – and dedicate myself 100% to freelancing and learning new things.
