When I first began drawing sexual content I feared that my classmates wouldn't respect me in a professional setting. I thought that if anyone found out I would never get a job. I struggled with this and making art in public for a little over a year. Eventually I got tired of being scared. I couldn't keep my biggest passion such a secret. I discovered that my art empowered me and slowly began to stop worrying about other's reactions. I practiced remaining calm and crushed my embarrassment when people ask to see my sketchbook and are surprised by the contents. I learned that if I had confidence in my work as a woman then others would treat me with respect. It was hard at first as a woman to affiliate myself with sex and still demand to be taken seriously. I have gained so, so many friends through my art. I carry my sketchbook everywhere with me now; to class, planes, and even restaurants sometimes. I'm interviewing for internships with Nordstrom and Expedia and now have confidence in simultaneously creating and pursuing a professional career. I love to draw erotic pieces. I love to wrestle. I love studying business. I love being a woman.
The first image is two pieces by Wolfsbane Intimates. The small brand is run by a beautiful woman who creates all of the pieces herself. She bought this original from me a bit ago.
The second image is from NYFW. I like seeing men and women work together in a situation that may not be necessarily erotic or sensual. He is respecting her. She trusts she is safe to be naked in front of this man as two creatives collaborating. It is important for models to be able to trust photographers and canvases to trust their artists.
The third image is from the movie LOVE by Gaspar Noe. The film is a beautiful yet chaotic story of a relationship between two lovers and the turmoil that occurs after inviting their beautiful neighbor into bed with them. (Spoiler Alert) the neighbor gets pregnant and he promises to take care of her and their child. I drew this scene.
