My response to folks saying they're skeptical about Ello's prospects because it has no solid business model: I can pay Pandora and Rdio and Netflix and other apps for an ad-free experience. I'm more than happy to give Public Radio a bunch of money every year for high quality content and no ads. I've never understood why I can't subscribe to Facebook - I'd be more than happy to pay $50/year (or more!) for an ad-free (and tracking-free) FB. But they're not interested in that. Maybe Ello will take my money.
