"The realness of the feminine spirit"
In my work I explore the relationship between woman, photography and self-expression. I find the connection between the camera and the eyes of a woman a magical moment, a truthful moment. The way a woman can connect and express so much with just being, with simple movement, through eye-contact, with just being herself in a natural environment and through fashion. The way she owns her identity and her cultural background.
What we save, saves us.

With the ubiquitous digital image taking centre stage and the decline of the printed photograph, Charlie (a british artist based in Montpellier, France) presents the printed photograph as a thin receipt or a fossil…a half truth, a trace, possibly a clue to the past.
“I never liked photography,” Robert Mapplethorpe is quoted as saying, “Not for the sake of photography. I like the object. I like the photographs when you hold them in your hand.”
