In celebration of NSFW Month on Ello, here's my favorite novel of all time: Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller.
When this novel was published in 1934 it was considered pornographic and banned in the US and UK.
Today it reads more like a handbook for living an honest life, one where we are judged by what we do, not by what we feel or think. The freedom that we experience when we read Miller's books comes from his willingness to look life square in the face without judgement, without fear and without shame, and jump right in.
All great new ideas (including Ello) can be threatening at first. Creativity requires the courage to look at the world with open eyes, take the risk to let go of everything we know is true, and the willingness to fall in love with what we discover underneath.
What is your favorite NSFW book, film, or anything else?
