I took a break from the computer and hiked into the Loch Leven Lakes near Lake Tahoe Friday night. It was a rugged night hike in, by headlamp, and setting up camp as it rapidly cooled to below freezing was a challenge. But it was all worth it when I saw this the next morning.
The photo was 'auto-awesomed' by Google, but it still doesn't do the view justice. I had a wool scarf wrapped around my neck, and a cup of great coffee in my hand. That moment re-centered me and made both the 3 mile night hike and the chilly night worth it.
