A friend got me to thinking about a fun way to develop a character or two. In the past, I have had several that are based on people in my life, some even from my circles here on G+. Let's have a contest.
Give me a character. Describe its, his, or her personality or attributes. You can base it on yourself, someone you know, or just pull an animal or alien out of your imagination. I'm going to pick five characters submitted from across all of my social media pages.
If they are willing, I'm going to enlist a beta reader and my wife to help me pick the winners. There are some guidelines.
1) There are no rules. Make you entry anything you want it to be, from an AI spaceship to a zombie plant.
2) I get to decide if your character lives or dies. They may have their head stepped on by ten-meter tall HAWC powered armor, or they may live out their lives as a bee farmer on Solitude. It's my choice.
3) While I write sci-fi, your entry can be from any time period. It can be a Neanderthal (let me worry about how to put a Neanderthal in sci-fi series), a modern-day politician, or a cyborg from another galaxy. If you want a katana wielding ninja assassin, submit one.
4) Entries are due no later then December 15th. Winners will be announced on December 24th.
Prizes: All tasteful entries will be mentioned in a post about the contest.
The five winners will receive the complete Warrior Chronicles series up to the appearance of their character.
Winners will be mentioned on the 'Acknowledgements' page of the first book their character appears in.
