THIS IS A TEST, ONLY A TEST. We finally broke down and tried large format film. We used the Sinar 4X5 with Kodak Porta 400 film (should have used 160). Drum scanned to 16" x 20" a whopping 1300PPI. Yes, that's right, 1300PPI (photo nerd info.) The process is both wonderful and a GIANT and EXPENSIVE pain in the butt. I believe the scanned film files to be superior in color to any digital sensor I've used, including the 100MP Phase One.
While the advantages of a DSLR far outweigh large format film camera, we'll certainly be using film for future projects. #kodak
