Through color, symbolism and absurdity I tell stories about the beauty, the horror and the extraordinary adventures of life.
While my work offers an escape from reality and takes place in a magical universe it often tells the story of a tragic figure. Underneath bright and beautiful colors lies disturbing imagery that turns the fairy tale into a nightmare.
In my personal work I thematise trauma, abuse and the lost childhood. While exploring these dark and morbid caves of the mind I re-decorate them with pretty wallpapers, dress the monsters in beautiful garments and put the ugly growths and tentacles in a pot and on display.
These works are deeply personal and range from wild emotional sketches to conceptualised planned out series.
In my commercial work I create dreamlike, surreal environments and often weird and neurotic characters. Influenced by fairytales, science fiction and mythology my work is meant to inspire peoples imagination. They are a look into a big tome of adventures where the words mean nothing and your mind writes the story.
