Trees are BAD?

[A/N: The following are taken from my notes during my High school days as I wrote them as part of my requirements and edited some things to be clearer. There will be more of this aside from my Horrible Truth Articles and I’m very sorry also as previous and future articles of mine will be in ENGLISH language due to some requests also. Be prepared to be mind blown. ^^]
We all aware that Trees helps to lessen the effects of Global Warming. Ever since in our Elementary days, our teachers already stating they can help and various activities already done all around the world. But what if not all of them are beneficial to us, Homo sapiens and even our fellow animals?
Even I when read this article was kind of mind boggled. All this times hearing that they can help but PINE TREES aren’t. Ever wonder Baguio City, what can you say about the city? (No offense to those who lives there ^^)
In 1981, former United States President Ronald Reagan said that trees cause more Pollution than automobiles. Many people of course didn’t agree and found this is very impossible and hard to believe know. Seriously, can trees cause pollution also? Environmental scientists who researched on this found out that Pres. Reagan was partially right.
According to environmental Scientists, PINE TREES are one of the biggest contributor of Pollution. (Oh great this is more shocking than a Childhood cartoons are ruined right?)These lovely trees releases gases that, when combined with airborne chemicals produced by human activities, can pollute AIR.
Neil Donahue and his team from Carnegie Mellon University discovered that biogenic particles formed form gases released by Pine trees are more active and are chemically transformed in the atmosphere. The team also found out that the air we breathe is full of particles known as AEROSOLS. These particles come from various sources such as trees, volcanoes, cars, trucks and wood fires. Also small particles affects cloud formation and rainfalls, affecting the human health and Climate. This problems are related to deaths from heart and lung diseases every year and attributed to excess concentrations of aerosols, especially particles less than 2.5 mm in diameters.
Our atmosphere acts as oxidizing and reactive place for aerosols that transforms these particles rapidly with different chemicals that can affect air quality and eventually human health.
You might ask how they validated if it’s true.
Researchers used a fake atmosphere called smog chamber which contains several cubic meters of air in an enclosed space in the laboratory. They fed alpha pinene, aerosols that Pine trees released and ozone into the smog chamber and then added OH (Hydroxyl) radicals, a natural occurring reactive, molecules that cause reactions with other chemicals present in the air. The researchers observed and gathered data from four chambers and fed the data in a computer model that they developed. They discovered that OH ages the particles, changing its properties and concentrations to produce three times particulate matter than the originally released in the atmosphere causing pollution. Also found out that tress emit the gases but human activities change the chemistry taking place in the air causing pollution.
Trees aren’t the one whom we should blamed for what problem we have now. They are naturally emitting those. We, humans still the root of Pollution, we are the one who made these such kinds of problems. Our negligence to our responsibilities towards our Planet. So what should we do? Plant more trees or better lessen first those activities said above?
