2. “I’m smiling: You don’t know what you don’t know”
3.”Nevertiti: royalty in crudeness”
Calil Miller’s art showcases rudimentary efforts to evoke contemplation on race, gender, age and cultural idealism. Depicting cultural emblems and motifs, combined with modernistic color theory, and simplistic composition; you’re able to concentrate on the intended “emotional catalyst” of the work itself. Calil is very inspired by renaissance paintings and the regality of its figures; while also very satiated in the bright color-minimalistic-surrealist qualities of modern contemporary art.
These three works incorporate a common theme of ethnic regality. Their intended purpose is to showcase the prolificacy of colored beauty in three separate cultural templates.
