I am a first-year photography student at The Royal Academy of Art The Hague. Originally I am from Warsaw, Poland. Growing up in very interesting but tumultuous times, made me more aware of what is happening in the world. Since last year I started to actively participate in protests and demonstrations until I organized my own protest in The Hague.
Experiences from the past have shaped me into the person I am today - thanks to which I present a specific art. Connected with the rights of women, girls, their bodies, the fact that we can be queer or normal, or whatever/whoever we want to be.
It is a manifestation, of the current political government game in Poland. Since last year, the running party has sharpened the abortion law to the maximum. Thus, women have been deprived from the possibility to choose, make of themselves — what fundamental human rights are. There was also a moment in Poland, when women and men created a strong opposition, fought and continue to fight with the right-wing government. In 2017, in October, on the anniversary of the Black Protest, disagreeing with the current political situation in Poland, I decided to motivate my friends and colleagues, women and men, from Poland, living in the Netherlands. Together we made manifestation happen, living abroad. We were called Black Tuesday — we protested against what was happening in the past, but also current situation in Poland, my homeland. The fruit symbolizes a vagina.
