** We knew about Gaspard Yurkievich, but are less familiar with One Piece, can you present us this concept, when, how and why it started?
>> ONEPIECE is capsule collection under YURKIEVICH label. With Guido VOSS my business and life partner, we have decided 2 years ago to approach our brand through concept and micro collection.
ONEPIECE is the first opus of a series of concept of collections.
ONEPIECE is exclusively composed of dresses and jumpsuit. Thirty styles per season.
This is a response on the evolution of the industry and the way to buy fashion.
** How could we categorize you, as an independent designer, a fashion brand, a couture brand, or a little bit of the 3 categories together.
>> Yes a little bit of both 3 categories. Independent even if you find investors , you are an entrepreneur and a creatif. Fashion brand and Fashion Designer: I confirm my position as a creative person proposing personal alternatives to respond to the demand. I believe we have create a signature in our esthetic and the savoir faire. We have an identity and we are mature in our commercial vision. We can talk about Couture cause even if we propose a ready-to-wear our patterns and researches are very elaborated.
In this context my challenge is to propose a personal vision, unique design with a commercial approach of each product.
** You sure have got a certain experience of luxury market : let us know what you are thinking of it’s latest (re)evolutions. How do picture this specific market in a few years from now?
>> My response to the changes in the industry is to explore and propose YURKIEVICH , seasonless, organized in capsule and drops where every communication tools fit to a commercial strategy.
>> Fashion is a slow cooking in terms of business investments but still a very big industry. Adding sincerity and creativity to investment are the key of the response I believe for an upcoming brand.
** We know that you did some collaborations with artists, before, any upcoming projects of any kind we should be aware of?
>> I do it in a very sincere and organic way... nothing is plan yet . My priority is to find partners to launch YURKIEVICH new approach and then collaborations will come spontaneously.
** It’s been almost two decades, since you made your first show, what has radically changed in this industry in 20 years ? How did it changed your way of producing, working, creating, if it made anything change for you?
>> It's all answered below but to complete the answer, I believe that you need marketing budget in big proportions to underline your creations and your sales.
