These photographs were captured at San Servolo, a little island just off Venice. These sculptures capture the fascinating history of San Servolo. Monks and nuns first lived on the island, before their exodus whereby it was turned into a military hospital.
Thereafter, it became an institution for the mentally ill.
Eventually, with reforms, it was the closed down and today it stands as Venice International University.
I was indeed blessed and privileged to add a visit there to my life experience and to walk among history.
