I spent the first day of the summer sales sitting on a bench. I stayed there, for hours and hours, without buying anything, shopping wasn't even on my mind.
Just sitting... people watching.
Couples: "Hey hun, do you like those sneakers?
- They're alright... but high heels suit you better"
Families: "Mommy look! Those ones would be so cool for high school!
- You have enough shoes, for god's sake!"
"How do I look? I don't think this jumper is flattering....
- Shut up, you look stunning."
...And the loners. Like this man who just asked for a pair of Stan Smiths. Two pairs actually.
He put on the red model, then the green one... and hesitated.
I hopped off my bench and decided to interrupt the fitting:
"Are you getting these as a gift?
- Sweet! Who for?
- My inner child!"
Turns out, any department can be the kids department because youth has no age.
On my end, I realized my best find during this year's sales was actually... free.
