This body of work, "Inexplicable", deals with the elusive, complex and sometimes contradictory feelings that we have at times, or as I do, very often. Words fail me. They always had. Our feelings are so elusive, complex, and sometimes contradictory that no versions of anxious, content, or melancholy could really pinpoint it. Conveying exactly how we feel is a challenging task. So much gets lost in the translation between feelings and words. I wish I can tell you how I really feel, but those words simply don’t exist. Language is tenuous the minute you move beyond the material and the physical. In terms of conveying mood and feeling, language is but a bundle of loose, unspecific concepts that we shoot out hoping that the recipient can adequately piece out some kind of meaning. I wonder if photography is able to better communicate this part of the human experience. Maybe it doesn’t. Maybe it does. I can’t stop trying anyway. I can’t stop seeing the brilliant and delicate ways that light illuminates the world, even the darkest of darks.
