I’ve received an insane amount of hate over the last few months on Instagram for posting aerial shots of places that are unsafe and/or supposedly off-limits to drones. It has been unrelenting with some even going to the extent of creating fake accounts to report me to the FAA and threatening me with other stuff that I don’t wish to mention here.
The funny thing is that the same people show undying support and appreciation for illegal photos posted by others, be it aerials (at the exact place where I shot mine) or photos clearly taken in a private, no-trespassing area. Why? Because they do not have the guts to threaten somebody with a bigger account than mine?
I really don’t get how these people feel they have a moral high ground to hate on me when they themselves go around breaking laws of their choosing, like bringing their dogs to places where dogs aren’t allowed and letting them off their leash.
For that reason, I’ve lost interest in posting anything on Instagram. I can do better than being judged by a bunch of self-righteous hypocrites.
That being said, this is my first post on Ello. I hope this network does not become another Instagram where the algorithm prohibits people with genuinely good content from growing their accounts, whereas people who post utter crap succeed. Cheers!
