Today I closed my eyes and I could envision, many years from now, what it would feel like for someone to join my cult. It played in my head like a cheesy university commercial. Those ones where you see beautiful young people join the university and it fast forward to them learning new things, developing skills and experiencing great moments of life. Fast forward again and you see the same people successful, rich and in positions of power.
That vision. That feeling. That’s what I have to hold on to. Because once you understand how you want people to feel, once you can picture the feeling in your head, putting that sentiment in them is just like cooking. Like seasoning a turkey. Just like any good cook can imagine the taste a certain spice will give to a piece of meat, a good manipulator can anticipate the subject’s reaction to a specially constructed situation.
The clarity this vision brought is what will guide me to become what I need to become. That life, that I wish I had lived, and I’ve now set out to offer to others, is the final result of this experiment. I dreamt the plate, now I have to construct the recipe.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not some kind of benefactor or guru. I just think gratification for everything in life grows alongside abstraction.
If you do something that improves your life, like making more money or a trip, you’ll feel good about yourself. You’ll feel competent, won’t you? Well, you’ll be just an adder. When you do something that improves your life and lives around you, you feel even better, proud of yourself, maybe. Like you are a better person than most. You are a multiplier now. But if you can induce people into making those improvements in the lives of others, you’ll feel fucking awesome. And that’s ok, ‘cause if you can do that, you really are. You are an exponent now.
And that, my friends, that’s the league I wanna play in.
