So yeah. Nice that so many of you are coming in here and decide to follow me, or friendsnoise me or whatever it is called here.
As it has become obvious, I'm not using this thing at the moment. It's yet another thing to fill, it has no API that I could use to selectively mirror stuff over so it gets left behind most of the time. Not really ello's fault but just a situation where I don't gain enough (in contrast to the existing thingies) here to invest any time.
There are issues here. Sadly the usual: Lack of diversity within the development team, releasing something to the public with very problematic omissions (like a block feature). And it's invite-only, elitist, country club vibe which always annoys me (I don't frequent those kinds of exclusive venues for a reason). On the other hand there are also good things. A new dynamic, maybe it will become something great along the way.
I don't consider this experiment failed, it's not App.net. It might become something awesome and I hope it will. I also hope that soon the devs will make public how they intend to monetize this (or at least cover the cost) in a more concrete way (all the promises in the FAQ right now do not mean that much really).
So with all that being said, thanks for following this, somewhat dormant account. I'm not doing a lot here but I check it out every once in a while to see how it is developing.
