Dominika Cibulkova wins WTA Finals in Singapore!
The Slovak player stunned the world no.1 Angelique Kerber to win her biggest title yet. Cibulkova came out on court very fired up and from the first point of the match was bossing Kerber around the court. Angie tried her best but was visibly nervous, couldn’t find the right rhythm, made too many unforced errors. There were flashes of brilliance from the German but she just couldn’t do enough to finish her best season with a win. Hats of to Cibulkova for holding her nerve during the whole match and not allowing Kerber to come back. Cibulkova was also the lucky one today, winning the match on a net cord with a ball landing just in. She defeated Kerber 6:3 6:4 in a very convincing manner.
This is Dominika’s first appearance and a first title at WTA Finals in Singapore. On Monday she will move to no. 5 in WTA rankings. Congratulations, Domi!
