The temperature shot back up for a week right after my last beer review, but then today dropped down again, so I have resumed consuming winter-ish beverages. I've been meaning to try Undead Party Crasher for a while now, read some good things about it and it's one of the more reasonably priced Clown Shoes offerings. Unfortunately, I'm finding myself less than impressed. The bitter coffee flavor dominates the peat, smoke, dark chocolate, and roasted malt notes that are floating around, which is frustrating. That bitterness faded as I was drinking this, but I'm not sure if that's because the flavor changed as the beer warmed or the 10.5% abv was just muting the ol' palate. Meh, even with that bitter coffee taste muted, I'm still not thrilled with this beer. Not my deal, but don't let that stop you from trying it.
