Beer Diary: Bourbon Peach (Unity Vibration)
A bourbon barrel aged kombucha ale brewed with peaches, Bourbon Peach is definitely one of the more unusual brews I've had. Starts off with sweet peaches & just as you think it will become overwhelming, the kombucha comes in & cuts through the fructose, finishing on faint bourbon & vanilla notes. There's zero taste of any malts or hops, this is more like an alcoholic soda than a beer. The carbonation was strangely subdued, but the body was light enough that it didn't overly coat the palate and require higher carbonation. I liked it, but it's probably not the thing for everyone. I'm looking forward to pounding a few of these on a hot summer day.
