Mild and completely inoffensive, Southern Star's Oktoberfest is one of those beers where there's nothing wrong with it, but nothing particularly good about it either. Toasty, caramel malts upfront, faint earthy hops in the middle, and hints of cinnamon bread on the finish. Yea, it's alright and you could guzzle a few of them no problem, but there are better märzens out there. I'd drink this again, but I certainly wouldn't buy it again. About the only thing this has going for it is a slightly higher abv than other oktoberfest brews.
