Beer Diary: Pipewrench (Gigantic Brewing Company)
This is two firsts for moi; a barrel aged IPA and a beer aged with gin barrels. Starts off tasting of juniper with undertones of grapefruit and lemon, followed by some piney/spruce wood notes, and wraps up with some sweet, bready malts. Is "bready" actually a word? Nothing here dominates the palate or overwhelmed the other flavors, which is impressive as I was expecting a herbal hop bomb. I'm not an IPA fan, but I am loving this.
