Beer Diary: Iron Thistle (Rahr & Sons Brewing Company)
This starts off with robust molasses and roasted malts, along with a touch of vanilla, that gives way to mild floral notes and hop bitterness. I rly liking that it manages to be both creamy and smokey simultaneously. Probably not the most authentic example of a wee heavy, but I don't mind; if you're a big fan of Scottish ales like Old Chub, this may be a little mild for your palate. Definitely worth checking out.
