Rambutan - Remember Me Now cd (Kendra Steiner Editions, 2015)
A freebie thrown into my last order from the rad Tape Drift Records, I feel kind of bad shitting on Remember Me Now, but it is what it is. Creating sound collages from field recordings and minimalist drones, the tracks are disjointed, meandering works that never come to fruition. There is also a fairly wide variance of the mood from track to track, which makes the album feel like it lacks cohesion. Some of the more drone oriented sections I found enjoyable, but on the whole I was mostly left unimpressed with what Rambutan had to offer.
