Despite fancying myself as connoisseur, this is the very first braggot I've had. For those finding themselves at a disadvantage, braggot is an ancient beverage (allegedly originating from Wales) brewed with honey and malt; think the love child of mead and beer. Things start off with tart blueberry mingling nicely with sweet honey, followed by some herbal notes, which concludes with mild caramel malts. The sweetness and low carbonation give it a bit of a syrupy mouth feel, which I can see turning some people off. But, the well hidden 11% abv definitely compensates for any such issues in my opinion. It's a little too fancy for daily guzzling, but recommended every so often as a treat for your palate.
