An existential rose
The garden was vibrant, shimmering
with colors & sweet scents.
She wanted to take her time walking amongst the splendor.
There were so many beautiful flowers
of all types.
Its such a perfect place for lovers,
But of everything, there was one rose
A quite unique flower that she chose, despite its simplicity.
It was neither red nor white in color,
It couldn't make a decision in either,
She sympathized because she had
recently lost herself.
She had of late felt quite a bit mad
Poor thing can't make up its mind,
It seems to want to be two of a kind
but is in fact one.
She thought perhaps it was having
some crisis of identity.
It could be that it likes just thinking
much too much.
It's a lot like me, she thought then
said out loud.
& it was true, both were the same;
beautiful & confused.
The girl leaned in closer to examine
the two faced flower.
She noticed the red & white within
I wonder if we will ever figure out who
we are, she said to it.
The flower only swayed in the wind to
Well, the girl said, goodbye little odd one.
