Lee Friedlander’s Mannequins re-imagined. Instead of shop windows dolls, top models inside magazines.
The girls are integrated into urban environment, their loneliness transferred from paper to cold city walls and bright city lights.
They all merge into monochrome, trapped behind plastic membranes instead of window glass.
Through reflections, the bodies transform.
The consecutive stages are photographed.
In the end, the trapped creatures will crumple and catch fire under the repeated exposure to the light of the camera.
Like moths that went too close to the flame,
they will be consumed
leaving behind only an image of a memory that they once…existed.
