It’s always been the same, there’s always been a journey in music...
I find people's idea of world music is often more about trying to label things based on geography, rather than understanding the human story behind the music—because it's understanding that story that shapes the interpretation, and guides where the music goes... it's about looking at the world of music as a human experience.
So in a way the future of music could be very bright, or not, depending on how we approach the process. How do we balance all these influences from different times, places, and cultures, and still find an authentic voice?
Because I think authenticity is the key.
