The holidays are here and I’m sure all of you are more than thrilled to participate in family Holiday get together! Ah aren’t you excited? (I hope you can grasp onto my sarcasm)
I don’t know about you, but my family does one of those huge Kris Jenner Christmas Eve party’s every year. We’ve got about 50 guests and all of them tend to be family along family friends. Each year I find myself near the alcohol section building up liquid courage for the questions my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents ask me. Such as “do you have a girlfriend yet?” The question I get every year even though it is clear that I am the gayest person in the room (besides you cousin Ray, we’ve all be waiting)
Each year is a competition. Which one of you out of all of your siblings and cousins have accomplished the most since last year? Who is dressed the best and who is in the best shape? Who is the flop of the family and who is the successful one? It all had to do with being the Kim Kardashian of the family and I won’t stand for not being it.
What To Wear
I can’t stress enough the importance of what to wear. If you aren’t in something that’s going to turn heads then why go to the family party anyway? In order to be the shinning star of the family, you have to show up. That means shopping! Zara is the place and Zara will provide a great mix of edginess and family safe attire. Being too conservative in your outfit choice will of course make your grandparents happy but also will show your siblings and cousins that you’re a prude. Let’s be real, we all have seen what you wear on your girls night out, you can afford to show a little skin at this years party. Below I have attached the ideal outfits from Zara’s Campaign Collection
The Hair & Make Up
You’re entire outfit can be cute n all but how does the bob and the face look? Having the hair and make up down is the next key to delivering a snatched look. After deciding the tire for the evening, choosing a coordinated hair and make up look is next. I personally prefer something chic and mysterious. Maybe a dark smoky eye? I try my best during the holiday season to look as unapproachable and intimidating as possible to keep family away. When it comes to hair I believe a straight sleek or big and curly is the way.
Shoes, shoes, shoes, all I care about is the shoe and of course a statement shoe for this holiday party. I hope you don’t plan on wearing flats, because those need to be left at home. It’s all about the heel and I won’t take you seriously if you show up looking great and in a sad sad flat! Below are some of my personal favs that would be appropriate to wear. All simple stilettos that are easy to match with pretty much anything.
If you aren’t sitting at the dinner table with your shades on then you aren’t giving your family enough attitude. I’m kidding, don’t wear your shades to the table but definitely connect with your inner Ana.
