Tonight's sunset. Feeling international tonight. https://youtu.be/vuWBLzKG_2s. Earlier in the day I was listening to Libertango: https://youtu.be/ItYy_U9cvCo. I like his take on Piazzolla. It's more interesting to my modern sensibilities than the original arrangements. (I find a lot of modern jazz to be too esoteric for my taste. Will I never be satisfied?)
A friend came over to hang out for a couple of hours. We drank tea and talked about music. I played Calexico, of course! And she introduced me to Gretchen Wilson: https://youtu.be/82dDnv9zeLs, "Rollicking" is the perfect word. I like it as a great example of the genre. As it turns out, though I didn't remember her name, I'd heard her music before, especially this song.
Little known fact about me; on road trips I love listening to country music. I think I got in the habit back when the only stations you could get on the radio were either religious or country. Now, I don't feel complete without a good dose of it for part of those hundreds of miles a day. It's fun! Though the sad ones always make me cry. You can picture the scene.
