Interesting. Long story, but I now know my phone will navigate me (assuming there's cell coverage) all the way to Tulum. Only 2 days and 2 hours, apparently. I'm assuming that's without sleeping or eating. Still there's something comforting about knowing I can just get in my car and drive to a warm Caribbean beach. The ruins are interesting, but been there, done that. I'd stay here. http://www.differentworld.com/mexico-hotels/hemingway/index.htm Under a palm tree (carefully avoiding falling coconuts) unless I got up to swim in the sea. Maybe drive inland to Coba. You can rent a bike to tour the small part of the city they've taken back from the jungle. Just one day though. The rest of time needs to be near the beach telling myself I'll read that book I'll never really read....Heaven. There's even electricity until 11pm. Like luxury camping with a chef and housekeeping services. I'm actually drooling a little bit. Don't judge me.
