Tonight's sunset. Two views.
Quote of the day:
"Mommy, they made us take a sexual harrassment class. My childhood was taken from me!"
Some creep is cruising around Berkeley trying to get "tween" girls to get onto his van. He even got out and chased one. All the schools had something for the kids to address how to handle something like that.
My daughter told me she'd received an Amber Alert on phone about it too. So she knew about it before the assembly.
She said all the kids already knew to run and scream. Then she said, "Unless they have a gun. Then I don't know what to do."
I told her to run either way. She'd be shot and worse anyway if they got hold of her. I told her they probably wouldn't shoot her if she ran, but in any case, it's better to die in the street than to take the chance of going with them.
She saw the sense of that. She's right, her childhood was taken from her too soon. She's only 10. Sometimes the world sickens me.
Then we finished homework and watched Disney channel while we ate dinner.
I'm outside walking my dog right now. He's upset because I won't let him chase that racoon wandering around 30 feet from us.
First world problems are complex.
