Super long day. Work was busy, lunch errands were time-consuming, and I had a work assignment thrown at me 10 minutes before I needed to leave work to pick up my son and catch the ferry into the city for dinner with a friend.
We rode the elevator at the Hyatt. I love that elevator, (It's glass with a view of the incredible 17-story atrium.) I thought my son would too, but my friend also loved it. It's the little things.
On the ferry over, I bought my son a snack and juice. The bartender remembered me! I always take the ferry into the city if I can, and for years I always ordered a cocktail, a double, of course on the way home. Sometimes on the way there, but I wasn't a habitual day-drinker untiluntil the last couple of years.
It was nice to see him. He pours a strong drink with a friendly smile. For just two seconds, I regretted not being able to order a drink. I'm usually not tempted at all. But those were some fond memories.
By the ride home, I was gearing up for work. (A legal document I had to draft). I was soooo glad when I got home that I was entirely sober. I'm uttlerly exhausted from the lack of sleep this week., but I was able to get it done and emailed by 11:55p.m.
I definitely earned my overtime pay. Now, I can prepare for the weekend. Also super busy, but at least I can sleep for awhile!
