I was at the barn until 10:15. It's sooo peaceful. I'm truly grateful they let me hang out there until all hours of the night.
As I drove out of the canyon and onto the freeway home, I had such a sense of awareness of how incredibly lucky my nature-loving self is to have access to that ranch. In an area of 7 million people, it's so rare to have access to peace and space like that. Only 15 minutes from the freeway and it's just me and the racoons. And the horses, of course.
I'm completely run down by my two weeks of go, go go. I've scheduled an emotional spa day tomorrow. Just hang out with a book and my dog at the park. For hours. Like the old days. Only with money this time!
Well, I do have a party to attend in the afternoon. A fun party, but sad for the reason....a friend of mine is moving away in a week, to Portland. So glad I'll still get to see her! I get to Portland quite often, so I'll see her there at leaat.
