Tonight I got home from work/picking up son/grocery shopping around 7. Then I spent the next two and 1/2 hours rearranging and cleaning my room. Thank goodness my daughter can cook. She fed herself and her little bro while I cleaned. Half that time I spent dealing with the high pile of ignored paperwork on my desk. Most of which, of course, I threw in the recycling. Could have done that ages ago. One good thing about this job is that I've lost my fear of tackling paperwork.
I've lived in this apartment for 3 and 1/2 years now. I realized that I've rearranged all of the other rooms but my own. It was time for a change. New year, new life, new environment. I don't know how a feng shui person would feel about my arrangement, but it feels great to me so far.
I moved my printer to the closet. I can either wheel it out or just keep an extension cord attached and plug it in when I need it; which in this cloud-driven day and age, is infrequently. Now it's not uglifying my room anymore and bumming me out.
I'm about to find out if this setup gives me as good of a night's sleep as I'm used to. I generally don't sleep as long as I should, but I usually fall asleep really quickly, and sleep soundly until my alarm goes off. Wish me luck.
P.S. I know my bedspread looks like something I stole from my Midwestern grandma's house. It's a long story how I ended up choosing this one. At first I had strong reservations, but I'm growing rather fond of it.
